1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 DAYTONA
1969 FERRARI 365 GTB/ 4 DAYTONA PLEXIGLASS LONG NOSE
This Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is a European version LHD car that spent many years in California before undergoing a 2 year full detailed restoration. This very early Plexi Nose Daytona has a Factory completion date 14 October 1969. Assembly sequence #96.
All the mechanicals, all the suspension, the engine, transmission, paint, interior, body, weatherstripping, glass, everything was taken completely apart and completely restored and rebuilt. The restoration was very recently finished and the engine has break in miles only on it. The car is and always was, solid, straight and a very nice and rare example of an early built Daytona with the rare Plexi Nose. These cars have been increasing value over the years and this one would be a fine addition to any investor's portfolio of a car that's bound to continue to increase in value. The Early Daytonas featured fixed headlights behind an acrylic glass cover called perspex. This particular setup was completely abandoned in 1971 favor of retractable pop-up twin headlights due to new safety regulations in the U.S., which outlawed headlights behind covers. The 365 took off from where the 275 GTB/4 left off. It used a similar V12 upfront, but with one more liter of displacement. Both cars had four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension and a rear-mounted transaxle balance out the front/rear weight ratio.
